    Greetings all,

Just got connected, and was wondering if any of you are POTA operators?

Just got into POTA in June of 2020, and have been hooked ever since.

    Regards,

    Hi Brian,

I am not a POTA Hamop, yet. My XYL and I just bought a Travel Trailer and
tink about WorKamping. I moght get into POTA once starting traveling.
However, if I hear or see a POTA station, I try to get them.

One ham had a different take on POTA...it was "Pizza On The Air". He would make calls from a pizza place. He believed in that H.A.M. stands for "Have Another Meal", and "You Don't Call Us Late For Dinner" (hi hi).

Now, please excuse me...I hear my name being called by one of these. <G>

Hahahah...that's awesome. Several years ago there was a QRP contest called "Run For the Border", yup, you had to be operating from a Taco Bell parking lot. There were over 100 logs turned in! Just proves all most hams need for a road trip and outdoors operation, is an excuse, no matter how silly it is.

We used to have a diner near here called "The Knuckle Sandwich"...they had a 1950's rock n roll motif, and served all kinds of delicious fried foods. Some of the guys would meet there and call "The Knuckle Net" on the local repeater. It always brought more hams to the "table" so to speak.

I write up my POTA adventures and put them on my website, if you ever want to take a look just go to https://kb9bvn.net

I saw a meme that noted Taco Bell was replacing their regular chairs
with toilet seats. :P And, another one noted "I got gas for 99 cents yesterday...but it was from Taco Bell" (hi hi).

We used to have a diner near here called "The Knuckle Sandwich"...they
had a 1950's rock n roll motif, and served all kinds of delicious fried foods. Some of the guys would meet there and call "The Knuckle Net" on the local repeater. It always brought more hams to the "table" so to speak.

I've heard on more than one occasion, where a ham tells what his XYL is making for dinner. Right after he unkeys, another ham asks "What's your address?? I'll be there in 5 minutes" (hi hi).

On the third Saturday of each month, I do "The Food Net" on the QuadNet Array. I've been to some Field Day events or club banquets...and man,
never mind their on the air workings...they can put out a spread of food!!

I love hearing the alternate phonetics for ham radio callsigns. There
was one with a suffix of PBJ -- it stood for (what else??) peanut butter
    and jelly (hi hi).

That is TOO FUNNY. <BG> But, if they eat ham, they're cannibalistic
    (hi hi).
